There’s no straightforward answer to this question. Pop-up rental costs depend on the location, space size, lease duration, and sometimes the reason the space is vacant in the first place.
When planning your pop-up budget, you should also factor in the cost of your shopfitting and store set up, stock, staffing, administration, and marketing.
Once we receive your Brand Profile and Pop-Up Request, we’ll connect you to available opportunities that suit your brief and your pop-up rental budget.
Yes. We charge brands a Matching Fee for successful short-term leases secured through the platform and PopUp Shop Shop’s services. It covers lease negotiation, application guidance, and access to opportunities through the relationships we've developed with landlords and leasing teams to secure. The Matching Fee only applies once you decide to go ahead with an application.
Pop-up durations vary. Most of our property partners prefer a minimum 3 to 6 month short-term lease, although some spaces may be available for shorter periods or on month to month contracts.
Availability depends on vacancy timing and landlord preference.
In most cases, yes. Extensions are always at the landlord’s discretion and depend on future leasing plans.

We work with a wide network of landlords and property owners across South Africa. Our property partners are profiled on the website, but full details of available opportunities get sent directly to brands who've submitted a complete Pop-Up Request and are ready to move.
Signing up gets you matched to available spaces that fit what you're looking for.
You’ll move into the application phase, which includes submitting tenant information, FICA documents, and a pop-up concept presentation outlining your product, store layout, audience, and marketing approach. We will guide you through each step of this process.
Once approved, you’ll confirm your short-term lease directly with the landlord, and prepare to set up your shop.
From time to time we curate collaborative pop-up projects. If one aligns with your brand, we'll be in touch, but this depends on us having your Brand Profile and Pop-Up Request on file.
